What Can You Do with an Electrology Degree?

In an age where people strive to become more comfortable with their bodies, electrology school in Hollywood, FL is much more popular, and definitely something that you would want to pursue.

This is a procedure that is used for both men and women and is defined as a permanent hair removal procedure that works much more extensively than the typical laser hair removal process. So what is it? How does it work? Most importantly, what can you do with an electrology certificate?

What is Electrology and How Does it Work?

First and foremost, electrology is a procedure which uses electricity to sever the hair at the root. In addition to that, however, it can be used to permanently remove moles, warts, and a wide range of other skin imperfections. In this process, the electric current is used to destroy the tissue beneath, ridding the patient of the undesired hair. Even if you’ve heard of electrology, you might not be aware that there are three different types in use today:

This process uses a chemical which is essential for eliminating hair growth cells. This method is used with several needles, often up to 16.

This method uses heat, rather than chemicals to destroy hair growth cells inside the follicle. Most notably, it is able to use the flash method and high-intensity current for less time, or a lower intensity current for a more extended period of time.

Your technician may choose to blend both heat and chemical reactions to eliminate hair growth cells.

The electrolysis process begins with the electrologist sterilizing the client’s skin with an antiseptic. A tiny needle is slid down the opening of the follicle into the papilla, tissue below the hair root. The electrologist adjusts the timing and intensity of an electric current that is then sent through the needle. The hair is then removed by the electrologist with a tweezer. Amazing, right?

The process begins with the electrologist performing a sterilization of the skin using antiseptic, and a needle is slid into the opening of the follicle. An electric current is run through the needle, and then the hair is removed by the electrologist using a tweezer. Yes, it’s that simple.
